Cuddles of Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to comforting children by providing them with a new stuffed animal to cuddle with during an uncomfortable or frightening situation.

Our Story
In the summer of 2018, I experienced my first true emergency as a mother. We were at a friend’s house when my two-year-old son, Lucas, fell and seriously injured his eye. An ambulance arrived quickly, and we were rushed to the emergency room, where we learned he would need surgery to repair his eye and tear duct.
Lucas was incredibly brave, and we were surrounded by the most compassionate people. The North Providence Fire Department, the EMTs, and the doctors and nurses at Hasbro Children’s Hospital went above and beyond to care for him and support our family during one of the scariest moments of our lives.
What stayed with me most was watching Lucas tightly grip a towel stained with his own blood as he was examined and prepared for surgery. It was his only source of comfort in that moment.
That experience is what inspired Cuddles of Hope. I wanted to make sure no child facing fear, pain, or uncertainty would have to go without something soft, familiar, and comforting to hold. Every child deserves a “stuffed friend” to remind them they are safe, loved, and not alone during their hardest moments.
